A vintage rug from the Oushak region of Turkey, around 50–60 years old. This pattern - known as “Flower of the 7 Mountains” - takes its name from the seven hills of Istanbul. Traditionally handwoven by women at home using wool dyed with natural pigments, these rugs were often made for their own households rather than for sale.
This piece was sourced in a small village in the Oushak region of Turkey, then taken to Istanbul where it was cleaned, trimmed and restored. It’s in great shape for its age and ready to be used for many more years.
